Welcome to Thrive Learning Hub CIC
Alternative Education & Learning Community for ages 5-16.
Every Child Deserves A Place Where They Can THRIVE
Small-group learning and community for children and young people aged 5–16 who may not thrive in mainstream education.
Supporting home educated learners, EBSA, anxiety, school-based distress and young people seeking an alternative pathway.
Build Confidence. Find Belonging. Reconnect with Learning
Why Families Choose THRIVE
Many of the families who join Thrive arrive feeling stuck.
Perhaps their child has lost confidence in learning.
Perhaps school has become a source of anxiety rather than growth.
Perhaps they are home educating and looking for a community where their child can learn alongside others.
Perhaps they are worried about what the future holds if traditional educational pathways no longer feel like the right fit.
Whatever brings families to us, the outcomes they are hoping for are often remarkably similar.
They want their child to:
✓ Feel confident and happy
✓ Build meaningful friendships
✓ Enjoy learning again
✓ Develop independence and resilience
✓ Feel understood and accepted
✓ Be excited about their future
At Thrive, we have designed our provision around these goals.

Education That Starts With Belonging
We believe children learn best when they feel safe, connected and valued. That is why everything we do focuses on and is shaped by five interconnected pillars:
Core Skills & Learning
Building confidence and progress in literacy and numeracy.
Curiosity & Creativity
Project-based, hands-on and meaningful learning experiences.
Relationships & Belonging
Small groups, consistency and safe relationships.
Life Skills & Independence
Communication, self-management and real-world skills.
Wellbeing & Identity
Supporting confidence, emotional wellbeing and self-understanding.
We call these THRIVE skills and use them alongside project-based learning, personalised support and a strong sense of community, to help young people rebuild trust in themselves and in learning.
Who Do We Support?
Thrive may be right for your child if they are:
• Home educated
• Experiencing EBSA or school avoidance
• Struggling with anxiety around learning
• Feeling overwhelmed in larger educational settings
• Disengaged from education
• Looking for a more personalised approach
• Needing support with confidence, friendships or belonging
Many of our learners arrive feeling disconnected from education. Our goal is to help them reconnect — first with people, then with learning.
The THRIVE journey
For many children and young people, particularly those experiencing anxiety, EBSA or school-based distress, meaningful learning cannot happen until they feel safe.
That is why our approach focuses on gradual, sustainable change.
Feeling Safe
Building trust, reducing anxiety and developing a sense of belonging.
Building Relationships
Developing friendships, confidence and connection with the community.
Re-engaging With Learning
Beginning to explore interests, take risks and participate more fully.
Growing Independence
Developing resilience, responsibility and self-belief.
Looking Ahead
Preparing for future learning, qualifications, employment or adulthood.
Every child's journey is unique, but meaningful progress takes time.
Testimonials
"The team at Thrive really understand children and their individual needs. They helped my son rediscover a love of learning, and the fact he looks forward to attending says everything."
Jillian Wells
"Thrive is a calm, nurturing environment where children's wellbeing comes first. Small groups, personalised learning and Forest School create a truly holistic approach that allows children to grow in confidence and learn at their own pace."
Victoria Fitter
"Jude felt safe and nurtured at Thrive from the very beginning. Over the past year he has flourished, growing in confidence, self-esteem and belief in himself. When he joined, he lacked confidence in Maths and English; now he has sat both exams and is expecting strong passes. As a parent, it felt like a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders."

Our Story

Thrive was founded by Anna Waters and Louise Walker in August 2023, after seeing first-hand how many children and young people were struggling to find educational environments where they truly felt they belonged.
We met families whose children were bright, capable and full of potential, yet were becoming increasingly anxious, disengaged or overwhelmed within traditional educational settings.
We also met home educating families searching for opportunities that offered both meaningful learning and genuine community.
What began as a small project with 8 children has grown into a thriving learning community supporting over 40 children and young people aged 5–16. In June 2026 we registered as a CIC to become Thrive Learning Hub CIC to grow our provision and support for families through grants and fund-raising.
Today, Thrive remains committed to the same simple belief that inspired us from the beginning:
